Commissions are NOW OPEN!

As you may know (or not), Mylene and I will be doing Artist Alley over at this year’s Anime Expo in Los Angeles. We had a great time doing AA for Anime Conji and we’re ready for the big leagues!

Well, sort of ready. Here’s the deal:

A little while ago, Mylene wrote on her blog saying that she’s opening up commissions to raise money for AX (to cover transportation, hotel, food, printing costs, etc.). Here’s the link to the actual blog post: [link]. I didn’t think that I would have the same problem myself. “No worries,” I thought. “I’m sure I have enough money saved in my bank account…”

That was, until… I looked at my recent bank statement.

This is where you come in, O wonderful reader! I’m now available to do commissions. To see my complete portfolio and the kind of work that I do, check out my deviantART profile). And here are a few examples:

As of right now, I’m offering chibi portraits in both digital and traditional format. Both versions will be 5″x7″ in size and will vary in costs:

*If you want a DIGITAL drawing (done in Painter X/Adobe Photoshop), it’ll be $10 and will be sent to you through email as a high-resolution PDF file. If you want a hard copy of your digital drawing,  I’ll work with you on mailing a copy to you (additional fees for printing and shipping will apply).

*If you want a TRADITIONAL drawing (done in pen and marker), the base price will start at $10 and will be mailed to you. Shipping fees will be added and will vary based on your location.

EDIT: For those outside the U.S., choosing the Digital route would be best for you as shipping internationally is both expensive and takes a long time to ship. However, if you REALLY want a hard copy of a drawing, we’ll try to work something out.

In addition, the following artworks on my dA account are available for purchase in print form. These will be printed and shipped off to you. The pricing for these prints are different from the chibi commissions so message me if you’re interested in any of these:

For payment, I’ll only be accepting payment through PayPal (for safety/security reasons). I will not be able to start on a commission or send out a print unless I have confirmation that your payment has been sent. I’ll be accepting both original and fanart characters for commissions.

If you would like to commission me to do a drawing or would like to purchase a print, leave a comment here or message me on deviantART and I’ll communicate with you personally. I’ll have three slots open and it’ll be a first come first serve basis.

Thank you all very much. Your help is very much appreciated… :D

Welcome to the New Year!

After spending the last two weeks or so writing ’2009′ on documents, I’ve finally welcomed 2010 into the world! So much has happened since January 1st that I haven’t had much of a chance to blog. But watch out for a slew of upcoming blogs in the coming days, including:

*Recap of the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show at Las Vegas
*Reviews of some newly played games including Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
*Some good anime and manga related news including my (hopefully) debut at Artist Alley at an upcoming event.

I’m clearing out both my HD and external HD and finding a bunch of photos and drawings to put on the portfolio as well as working on a number of new projects. It’s been a little hard to find some inspiration to work lately but it’s been coming in bit by bit each day. I’ll post up more info on the projects as they progress.

Hope everyone is having a good new year so far! I have a lot of things planned out for the year and I’m hoping I can more blog entries up throughout the course of this year. Speaking of which, it’s been one year since the launch of Confessions! It’s been quite a year in getting used to this blog format and I’m working hard to improve and make the blog even better!

Well, that’s all for now… back to work for me! See you all later!

Holiday Post!

Here’s wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

2009 is coming to a close, which I find to be just weird! Where did the year go? I’ll try to make an end-of-the-year blog post recapping everything that has happened this past year. We’re also approaching the one year mark for Confessions of a Closeted Otaku! So much… writing to do!

Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday and see you all in 2010!

My College Student Life – 学生の生活

So today was the last day for SDSU professors and instructors to turn in grades for the Spring 2009 semester.  I was a little nervous since two of my three instructors still hadn’t turn in grades when I last checked on Monday.  It’s funny since I already walked in graduation without knowing my final grades.  Good thing is that my teachers finally came through and everything looks good.

Ah!  I can’t believe it’s been a month since the last post!  Though it sure doesn’t feel like it since I’ve been coming back here on a daily basis because of all of the comments I’ve been getting.  Sadly, about 95% of those comments are spam.  Damn spam bots.. =___=  But a lot has happened since the last post…

絶望だ!(I’m in despair!)

So quite a number of things have happened since the last update.  Along with school, work, getting ready for graduation and just enjoying life in general, the life of an otaku is never ending!

Turnabout Beginnings – 初めての逆転

OBJECTION!!
OBJECTION!!

So two months after the ‘unofficial’ opening of this blog, I finally get the chance to update/edit and all of that jazz. Parts of it is still very much under construction (links, RSS feeds, etc), but I got the important stuff out of the way (layout design, colors).

But enough of that… welcome! It’s been a few years since I was an active blogger (back in the good ol’ days of LiveJournal and Xanga) and now I feel is a good time to start up on it again. It’s been, what… four years or so? I sort of grew out of it for a while and then decided that in an effort to improve my writing skills, I’m coming back to the blogging scene. Oh, before I forget.. much thanks to my host Mylene for doing the hosting. I’ll pay her back in some shape and form (probably food).

So, this blog will all mostly about life as an otaku (that would be a fan of Japanese animation/comics/overall culture to you) and short little snippets from my boring though sometimes eventful life. There’ll be pictures, videos and lots and lots of writing in both English and Japanese.

With that in mind, you might be wondering about the picture I have on the top of this entry. That is the great lawyer Phoenix Wright (AKA 成歩堂龍一/なるほどうりゅういち/Ryuichi Naruhodo in the Japanese version) featured in the series released by Capcom. I’m (re)playing the 2nd installment Justice for All which I bought on eBay a while ago. I really like the novel-style and screaming, “OBJECTION!” into the mic of my DS. The next installment called Perfect Prosecutor (Jap. 逆転検事/ぎゃくてんけんじ)will be released in Japan sometime this year with the Western released still pending. The Japanese demo is available online here if you have free time to test it out.. pretty cool and fun.

Edgeworth – Phoenix’s Rival and Friend (?)

Okay, back to work for me! It’s Spring Break which means it’s time to work, work, WORK! When I say ‘work’, I mean fun stuff that I actually like doing and not like boring papers to write and boring books to read. Let’s go!
